Itoshima SDGs Village Project
It is said that if we continue to live as we do now, we will need 3 more earth, but we only have one earth.
We want to hand this beautiful earth to our future children as it is now. With that thought, we decided to create Itoshima SDGs Village.
The glamping facility “Global MIRAI” we are showing this time is the Part 1, and we would like to start this “Itoshima SDGs Village” from now on.
At “Itoshima SDGs Village,” we would like to create a place where we can review our current lifestyle from the perspective of the SDGs, take concrete actions for the SDGs, explore how we should live, work and interact with the community and nature, and create and propose “how to live from now on,” taking the next 5 years.
At “Itoshima’s SDGs Village,” we would like to work with local creators to start “Global MIRAI Factory” where they produce products such as local beer under the theme of SDGs to protect drifting objects, driftwood and the ocean, “Outdoor Fitness Club” where people can become healthy, doing SUP, kayak and moving their body in the forest, and “Nature School” where children can experience and learn the importance of nature in the future.
What is a new lifestyle where the economy, society and environments are well-balanced? What is a way of living to become happy after being in harmony with nature?
We will think about it here at first, create a small model, and then spread the answer across the country,
However, the project is too big for us to make it, so we’ve wanted you to stay at our glamping facility and know this project to gain more supporters. Then, we decided to create this accommodation plan at a special discounted price for the opening celebration of our facility “Global MIRAI” this time.
First of all, please experience and enjoy Global MIRAI to the fullest!

6 businesses below are in the works now at “Itoshima SDGs Village.”
At first, we would like you to experience and enjoy “Global MIRAI,” and we hope we can create various programs with those who have agreed with our philosophy.

Please join us to make walking paths and tree houses, making the most of the bamboos and wood from the forest.

Create using driftwood and scrap wood.
*This is an activity we would like you to join in the future.
There are a lot of driftwood in the ocean of “Global MIRAI.”
Many beautiful things such as sand, shells and stones are on the beach.
Many dead trees and bamboos in the forest are left.
At Global MIRAI, we would like to create “Global MIRAI Factory” to try making things and avoid mass production and mass consumption.
“Learn”
Learn about nature.
*This is an activity we are planning to start this summer.
It is said that grandfathers and grandmothers in Itoshima used to catch fish by their hands, eat horsetails, wild strawberries and acorns as snacks, and play with trees and bamboos as toys in their childhood.
“Nature School Playing with Nature” will be held where local fishermen and carpenters will join it as lecturers who are “the masters of playing with nature.”
“Exercise”
*This is an activity we are planning to start this summer.
At Global MIRAI, we would like you to be healthy here by doing forest bathing in the mountain with a lot of greenery, running along the ocean, doing yoga, taking a retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life, and experiencing SUP and snorkel.
Itoshima SDGs Village Social Activities
Education: Offering opportunities to feel nature.
It is said that grandfathers and grandmothers in Itoshima used to catch fish by their hands, eat horsetails, wild strawberries and acorns as snacks, and play with trees and bamboos as toys in their childhood.
We will invite local fishermen and carpenters as lecturers and ask them to teach participants how to release fry and make bamboo crafts under the theme of “play with nature, offering an engaging and enjoyable program we are eager to promote!
Environmental Preservation: Restore dilapidated mountains.
The mountains around our planned business site of “Itoshima SDGs Village” have suffered degradation.
Overall, there are more than 4000 bamboos growing on the 2000-square-meter site and they have been preventing the trees of the forest from growing healthily, and disrupting the ecosystem of it.
There are also a lot of dead and sick trees.
We would like to remove the dead trees, give the sunlight to the trees that have lived over 50 years, cut down ivies that prevent the growth of trees, restore the dilapidated mountains and transform these dilapidated mountains into healthy forests.
In addition, we will make fences along walking paths, bamboo cups and produce Menma from the removed bamboos.
Environmental Preservation: Promote environmental preservation activities for the ocean.
“The ocean used to be more beautiful, but it has gotten so dirty.”
We cannot forget what the fishermen in Itoshima said with a sigh.
It is a very beautiful ocean as a view, but when we were walking on the beach, we found a lot of garbage.
It’s invisible, but the ocean water contains numerous microplastics.
In response to these concerns, we would like to start the activities that protect Itoshima’s ocean, home to horseshoe crabs, sea turtles and many migratory birds.
Food: Promote local food production and consumption and solve problems of food loss.
The theme of Itoshima SDGs Village is “local food production and consumption.”
Lumber is produced in Fukuoka.
Itoshima is a treasure trove of food such as rice, meat and seafood as well as vegetables and fruits.
We will cooperate with local farmers, ranches, butchers and fishermen to provide delicious and healthy food under the theme of “let’s eat Itoshima’s delicious food!”
We prepare “SDGs BBQ Course” where we use surplus meat and irregularly shaped vegetables to minimize food loss and “Game Meat BBQ Course” where you can enjoy boar meat caught in the mountain behind Global MIRAI with a deep sense of gratitude for the gift of life.
Tableware: Support traditional crafts and promote environmental preservation.
Due to the coronavirus, many Arita ware potters haven’t been able to hold exhibitions and are facing financial difficulties. This time, thanks to the cooperation with Peace Wings Japan Saga Office, we have been fortunate to receive their exquisite works that would have otherwise been discarded because of a slight change of color, so we could make the project come true where our guests now can use and enjoy the traditional crafts that have continued for 400 years. They can be reused after washing again and again. We would like to reduce waste such as paper plates and cups in our BBQ and glamping facilities, and support Arita ware potters.
Employment: Promote diverse community-based employment opportunities.
We would like to create the Village in collaboration with local people including those who are over 70 years old and have expertise in architecture, civil engineering, plumbing and electrical construction.
